This Advent, the Sunday School will be raising money for The Refuge, a charity that works with homeless youth in the Durham Region. Each Christmas, The Refuge requests backpacks to be created for the youth as a present to remind them that they are special, worthy and loved during a time where they feel the most alone. These backpacks are filled with different items to help them survive on the street: hygienic products, a Tim Horton’s gift card, a fleece blanket and warm socks are some of the things included.
