Peace Youth Group

Peace Youth Ministry – so much BIGGER than Youth Group!

Youth Group is, by definition, a gathering of high-school students for the sake of the members of the group.  It’s a valuable faith growth experience and opportunity for fun and fellowship.  Peace Youth Group meets on Friday evenings 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.  The first, third and fifth Friday each month we have a curriculum night looking at the Guy Talk Girl Talk series.  Everyday issues like “making wise choices”, “dealing with teen emotions!!!”, “great expectations”, “family”, “fear”, “digital talk”, “being yourself – discovering your gifts” prompt lively discussions and personal growth.

On the second and fourth Friday evenings we enjoy a wide variety of Fellowship activities including movies, board and card games, bowling, sailing, Laser Tag, Youth Change Conference party (band) night and SkyZone.

Youth Group also works together to serve within our community.  We deliver VBS invitation flyers to hundreds of local homes; help on the VBS team; prepare client-story placemats for the Project Next Step Progressive Dinner fund-raiser.

While Youth Group focuses inward, Youth Ministry focuses outward as it exists for the sake of ministering to teenagers.

Young people need a thriving and welcoming  church and to thrive a church needs people of all ages – including youth.  At Peace we are fortunate to have fifteen high school students connected with us.  Although busy schedules prevent many from attending Youth Group, all fifteen students are included in the Intercessors prayers and receive birthday greetings from Peace courtesy of Lynn Hester.  Also many of the youth serve as acolytes, lectors and musicians during Sunday worship.  In the months ahead we hope to initiate a youth prayer buddy program and identify more ways to connect with our youth outside of youth group.

Will Start meeting again in September
